hi-d-ho neighbor! ok, so life is going good. my mom quit asking me if i had updated my xanga a few weeks ago...and i have finally decided to break down and get it done. lets see....the daughter is going to be 18 months in just a few days... and she is definitely enjoying being a big sister to a baby brother. that's right, jason and i brought a son into the world in january. i didn't have to have any surgeries while pregnant this time......had appendix out last time. but still had a little bit of a trying situation when we found out that he wasn't head down. he wasn't even feet down....he was back down. the doctor said, he would prefer feet down to back down because back down doesn't allow for spontaneous labor...but that neither were good. so the doctor scheduled a version to turn the baby head down....but what was supposed to be a 2 - 3 hour stay (procedure and after care) in hospital turned into 12 hours. turned out to have an allergic reaction to the shot they gave me to do the procedure....and then gave me again to help take care of the symptoms from the version and first allergic reaction. jason left the room once and came back to see one nurse standing over me squeezing fluids into me and another one frantically doing something with the monitors. that was the first allergic reaction. but it took them all day to figure out that it was the shot causing everything. but the baby remained healthy throughout....and came out a healthy 7lb 12 oz.

so, watching tv today....i was flipping channels and stopped on the oxygen channel to see what was on...it was an episode of ROSEANNE from the final season, final episode. the family was sitting around the living room eating pizza and talking and roseanne asked if someone should say grace, to which someone said they never prayed before so why start now, someone else said that they had prayed during a tough situation......and what roseanne said in response shocked me (as it came from roseanne's mouth) ..... so to leave this update..... here is the quote

“A lot of people pray when things are going bad, but how many pray when things are going good? I think we should pray like we fight…out loud and in public.” ~Roseanne

hello....im still alive

So, without using google or any other search engine.... have you heard of Abbott Nutrition or Ross Abbott Laboratories????

Ok, well...have you heard of Similac, Ensure, Pediasure, Glucerna?????

If you have heard of those brands, then in a round about way, you have heard of Abbott. The reason I bring this up is because that is where I am now working. I started out in the department that actually made the Similac baby formula, the Pediasure, Ensure, and Glucerna drinks.....and now I work in the department that bottles the liquids up and packages them. It is actually quite a neat to work for Abbott. Especially since moving here, Kiira was switched to Similac formula from the Enfamil she was on. I can proudly say...."I made her formula".

Life is going pretty good out here! I think since the last entry..........Kiira has gotten two bottom teeth, has been pulling up and getting braver about letting go and standing on her own. I've been told that she has even taken a couple of steps, but I've yet to see her do it. She has turned a year old. And has been chowing down on solid regular table foods for most meals.

Nana is here visiting for a couple of months....and I'm excited to say that at the end of the month Nana and Yammie will be joined together to play Scrabble for the first time in several years. I don't know if I'm more excited that my two grandmothers will be able to see each other or if I'm more excited that it has been an even longer time (than their last Scrabble days) since I have seen them both at the same time.

Well, that is all for now. Hopefully that next entry won't be as delayed as this one.

long time no type

well, its been several months, and i havent typed a thing. so here goes. we have moved...for a little bit better life. we both have full time jobs and we even have insurance! kiira is going on 10 months now, and is she ever growing! since we moved, she has started sitting on her own, crawling, and just recently started pulling up. she is getting to be a handful, but she brings so much joy to our lives! she has been dubbed the church baby by all the "grandmas" of the church. she has even gotten herself a boyfriend........granted, he wants to know why he can get a baby to adore him but not girls his own age.......he's 12 (or so). once jason and i get to church, we dont hardly see kiira again till we are ready to leave and we have to track down who has her.

not much else has really been going on. onward and upward!!!

6 months and going

well, it has been 6 months since kiira was born. that's right, she is 6 months old now. hard to believe, but its true. she has definately been a joy and a blessing in mine and jason's lives. at 6 months old she weighs 19 lbs. a couple of people said that that weight couldn't be right, that the doctor's scale must have been broken....i think all it is, is they are too weak and need to start lifting weights.........or lift kiira.

well, the kids knows what she wants...
just before her 6 month day, she decided to get into jason's supper plate and take a piece of ribeye steak. jason had been sharing his cottage cheese with her...and together they ate a whole container. well, she got mad that he wasn't sharing with her anymore and decided to go after what he had on his plate. she started reaching for his plate and ended up falling over, face first, into it. and then shook her head like a pitbull. by the time jason could get her up out of his plate, she had a strip of his steak in her mouth and would not let it go. jason tried to get it from her, but she'd put up her little dukes and fight him every time he tried. so we just let her naw on it for awhile until we thought it was getting soft enough for a piece to come off. jason finally got the steak away from her, but she was royally mad at him for the rest of night.

she knows how to get her diaper off. after playing "where's kiira's ......(eyes, tummy, toes, etc)?" she was patting her diaper, and found the tabs and pulled. she has been getting good at holding her legs up for me when i change her....by grabbing her toes and holding her feet up.........so after pulling the tabs, she grabbed her toes and lifted her legs, resulting in her diaper falling off and onto the floor. she laughed. i laughed at first. i got another diaper....cause the one she took off was kinda wet. got her into another diaper, and she did it again...i didnt laugh the second time. instead i went and got the matching shorts for the shirt she had on. kiira didn't like that idea one bit.

she gets to use a sippy cup now. wic said that she should start using one for everything but her formula. i asked the nurse i was talking too if she thought kiira was developmentally ready for a sippy cup, and she said that if she was smart enough to go after jason's steak, she was ready for a sippy cup. (i had told her about the steak when she asked if kiira was eating good...she laughed)

jason's mom has been trying to teach kiira how to blow rasberrys...for several months now. she thought kiira wasn't catching on...but she has. last night jason watched her while i was church. he gave her a bottle (which she doesn't like to hold as much as her new sippy cup now) and after several pulls off the bottle, she started to do rasberrys with her mouth full of formula. the formula went all over jason! i got home, and started to feed her her dinner (peas was the choosen selection) and she tried to blow rasberrys on me with her mouth full of peas. she thought it was funny! jason called his mom and thanked her for teaching our kid how to blow rasberrys.

well, its breakfast time for a "starved" baby.

it has definately been awhile seen the last update. kiira is now 5 months going on 6 months old. she is already training to be a wrestler when she gets older.

life is going pretty good. my folks were out here in the grand metropolis of licking, mo back in mid october. jason is working hard in the woods. he has had the past couple of weeks off due to weather and illness, but is finally back in the woods today. jason and i celebrated our 1 yr anniversary in january...and he got me the wedding band set that he had planned to get for the wedding (but didnt due to issues that came up with it). we decided to sell the jeep. in october, the altenator and battery were replaced. and in december, some other parts started to malfunction...and because it has jeep stamped on it, replacement parts were rediculously high. we now are in the process of getting a chevy blazer, we paid a deposit on it with the intentions of paying the rest when we got our taxes back but jason worked out a better deal of trading 15 rank of wood for the rest of it...which makes it about 200 dollars cheaper for us. so, hopefully by the end of the month, all the wood will be cut and we can get the blazer.

other than staying home and being a mom, not much else has happened.
